4-Day Tour Overview
Take this 4-day desert excursion from Agadir to Merzouga for a genuinely exceptional desert experience. Beginning in Agadir, travel to Taroudant, sometimes known as the small Marrakech, where you will stop. Discover Taliouine, a region that grows saffron and is home to a government-run saffron museum. Visit Taznakht, which is brimming with cooperatives selling Berber rugs and gelims. Visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a popular filming location in Hollywood, before moving on to Ouarzazate. Visit Kasbah Amredhil and the Skoura Oasis. In the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, see the distillery for Damascene roses. With the help of a local guide, stroll through the Dades Valley garden fields and ascend the Toudgha Gorges. On Merzouga, go camel trekking in the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Then, take in the tranquillity of the Sahara as you watch the sun set from the top of the dunes. Dinner will be had while you dance to Berber music under the Saharan sky's sparkling stars. Of the middle of the massive sand dunes in the Merzouga desert, spend the night in a private nomad tent. Discover the way of life in southern Morocco by visiting Berber communities and talking to the residents. Find the palm trees, walled kasbahs, and lush oasis of the Dra'a Valley. On the final day, return to Agadir.

4-Day Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Agadir - Ouarzazate
Start your Agadir desert excursion to Merzouga by leaving your hotel in the morning. The “small Marrakech” of Taroudant will be your first stop. You will see the enormous ramparts, the local market, and the historic medina here.
As you continue east, you cross Taliouine, which is well-known for its saffron planting fields. You may discover more about Berber rug making in Taznakht. Your trek then continues to Ait Ben Haddou’s kasbah.
This kasbah, one of the most well-known in Morocco, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the kasbah with a native guide after lunch. He will give you background information on the history of the location and point you any noteworthy features. You will visit the Film Studios in the afternoon where many classic Hollywood blockbusters are still in working order. These studios serve as the locations for numerous Hollywood motion pictures. like certain passages from the renowned television programmes “Game of Thrones,” “Gladiator,” and “Kingdom of Heaven.”
You proceed to Ouarzazate shortly after, where you will spend the night in a real guest house with a view of the city.
Day 2: Ouarzazate - Dades - Todra Gorges - Merzouga
You leave from Ouarzazate for the Toudgha Gorges after breakfast in the guesthouse. Visit the exquisitely renovated Kasbah Amredhil at Skoura Oasis to see its endless supply of palm trees.
You will then drive via the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs off-road. You may see and visit a number of Kasbahs along the journey that are perfectly situated among the palm trees.
Your desert journey continues via the Valley of the Roses after you’re back on a paved route. Visit the local cooperatives who make beautiful perfumes from an abundance of flowers here. You’ll next arrive in the Toudgha Gorges, where we’ll stop for lunch and do some gorge exploration. Your journey continues in the late afternoon to the Merzouga Erg Chebbi dunes. A camel ride takes you to the top of the dunes in Merzouga (250m). The sunset and views of the sand dunes are magnificent from the top of the dunes. Enjoy Moroccan pastries and a soothing cup of traditional tea at the camp.
Eat dinner while admiring the Sahara Desert’s starry night sky. After that, spend the evening listening to and dancing to Berber music over a bonfire. Later, spend the night in a personal nomad tent at a camp among the dunes in the desert.
Day 3: Merzouga - Alnif - Black Desert - Agdz
Get up early in the morning and ascend to the dunes’ crest. You may enjoy the sunrise’s spectacular display. when the golden sand dunes’ colour and the shadows’ play make for a stunning scene.
Your desert excursion continues to Agdz after breakfast. After passing through the villages of Rissani, Alnif, Tazzarine, and finally N’Qob, you will stop for lunch and then go exploring.
The trip takes you to Tanasikht in the afternoon. From here, you take a detour through the Dra’a valley and along the historic Road of the Caravans. As a result, it is possible to see the massive green oases and towering kasbahs that tower over the palm trees more clearly.
A stunning riad in Adgz offers food and a somewhere to sleep at the end of the day.
Day 4: Agdez - Agadir
You travel north from Agdez after breakfast until you reach Taznakht, a town well-known for its Berber rugs. You can discover the town and discover how rugs are made here. Your journey to Agadir is then continued as you cross the Tizi-n-Ikhsane and Tizi-n-Tighatine passes.
You will make a lunch stop in Taliouine, the centre of Morocco’s saffron growing region. The schedule directs you to Taroudant in the afternoon. You may explore Taroudant’s imposing fortifications and its medina here. You then proceed to Agadir, which we get to towards the end of the afternoon, just after. Your journey from Agadir to Merzouga in the desert comes to an end.

On this fantastic trip, I had a fun. Everything went according to plan when we were four persons driving in a spacious, pristine vehicle. Despite the airplane being delayed, our driver, Ali, was at the airport waiting for us. Communication was quite easy because he spoke English pretty well and was very accommodating to all of our needs. Hamid was extremely good at communicating with us in the lead-up to the trip because he was from outside, which was really beneficial. Out of all the organizations we spoke with about taking a trip, he was the best at responding quickly via WhatsApp when we were planning the trip and was extremely helpful in helping us modify our trip.
