8-Day Tour Overview
8-day desert journey from Tangier to Marrakech via Fes, Marrakech, and Meknes, three of Morocco's imperial cities. Explore Volubilis while taking in vistas of the Middle Atlas. The opportunity to see Merzouga Sahara, ride a camel, and camp in the desert are all included in this tour. Visit the High Atlas, Ouarzazate, and the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. On this 8-day trip of Morocco's imperial capitals, you'll gain a fascinating understanding of the country's rich history through its regal palaces, spectacular buildings that are on the UNESCO World Heritage List, winding medinas, and vibrant and thrilling souks. The two imperial cities of Fes and Marrakech will be highlighted throughout the free guided tours that are included. Spend your time in the centre of each imperial city in stunning, traditional riads that are adjacent to the city's top sights. Additionally, camel trekking in the enchanted Erg Chebbi dunes of Merzouga's Sahara Desert, as well as an overnight stay in a Berber camp beneath a sky full of brilliant stars.

8-Day Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Tangier - Tetouan - Chefchaouen (The Blue City)
Today, as we go to Chefchaouan, one of the stunning settlements at the base of the Rif mountains, we will enjoy the views of the beautiful mountains as we pass through Tetouan and the Rif highlands.
The medina at Chefchaouen included a Spanish-style square that was surrounded by a variety of quirky art and craft shops, rooftop eateries, and cafes where you could spend the evening in a relaxing setting while taking in the scenery.
Day 2: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes
Our 8 Days Desert Trip From Tangier to Marrakech begins with a delicious breakfast in the riad and travels through Ouazan and other Rif towns on its way to Volubilis. We will explore the Roman ruins in Volubilis and learn about Moroccan history there.
Then we’ll drive to Meknes, a city with a rich history dating back to the 17th century, where we’ll stop for lunch before exploring the medina’s ancient fortifications, bab el Mansour, and the shrine of Moulay Ismail. We travel to Fes city later in the afternoon to stay the night.
Day 3: Full Day To Visit Fes
We will begin our exploration of Morocco’s oldest city today by strolling through its narrow lanes. The first stop on our tour is the Royal Palace gate, which dates back to the 16th century and served as the Jewish community’s administrative centre.
The renowned Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the area, the tanneries, the Attarine Museum, and the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum are just a few of the places we’ll make sure you visit. Following lunch, you will see the cooperative for tiles before taking in a breathtaking 360-degree perspective of the entire Medina of Fes.
Day 4: Fes - Ifrane - Azrou - Medilt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Desert
We will go to Merzouga via Errachidia and Erfoud after breakfast in your accommodation. The Ziz Gorge and the beautiful Tiz Ntalghamt pass will be passed through on your journey. As you get closer to Errachidia, where you’ll have lunch and experience the warmth of the Berber people, you’ll note how the landscape shifts to reveal indications of the desert.
Then, on our journey to Erfoud (a renowned fossils city) and Rissani, we’ll travel down the Ziz Valley and stop for panoramic views along the route (with its famous souk). After we arrive in Merzouga in the late afternoon, you’ll be given a drink of mint tea as a greeting before setting off on a camel ride to spend the night in a desert camp listening to Berber music and sandboarding.
Day 5: Merzouga - Rissani - Tenghir - Todra Gorges - Dades
We get up early to catch the spectacular sunrise over the Erg Chebbi sand dunes before riding camels back to the hotel. following breakfast and a shower.
Before arriving in Dades Valley for dinner and lodging, we will go via the Saghro mountains after leaving the desert and then take a little stroll through Todra Gorge. We slept the night in a riad/hotel close to Dades Gorges.
Day 6: Dades Valley - Skoura - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - High Atlas Mountains - Marrakech
You will travel through the Dades Valley to reach Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate after breakfast at the hotel. The Way of the Thousand Kasbahs runs through Dades Valley. We’ll go to the Ouarzazate film hub and the T-Hami El Glaoui-built Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, which is Morocco’s biggest Kasbah (the UNESCO heritage site).
Then, as we travel through the High Atlas mountains, you may take in the stunning scenery and charming Berber communities until we arrive in Marrakech, where we spend the night in a local hotel.
Day 7: Full Day To Visit Marrakech
As we continue our 8-day journey over the desert from Tangier to Marrakech, we will begin by getting to know “the crimson city of Morocco.” The most significant locations of historical and cultural interest will be made sure you see. This comprises the Bahia Palace, the Koutoubia Tower, the Majorelle Gardens, and the Saadian Tombs.
You will go through the souks after lunch at a nearby restaurant where you may appreciate the handicrafts and shop for gifts. You will have some free time in the afternoon to explore the city on your own.
Day 8: Marrakech - Airport
Depending on your flight today, you’ll be taken to the airport to catch it.

We traveled from Tangier to Marrakech for eight days in September 2017 after visiting Morocco a few years prior. It was incredible. The four of us had a wonderful driver in Brahim. He was really capable. It was fantastic, although a lot of driving was involved. I traveled to several locations and stayed in a fancy tent in a Saharan camp. Such an amazing experience.

With the help of a fantastic tour guide named Brahim, we traveled from Tangier to Marrakech over the course of eight days. Using a Toyota Prado, we visited every nook and cranny of the extremely ancient cities and towns, Medinas, the Sahara, markets, and—most importantly—tried the REAL local cuisine in each location. We also had a vegetarian on the crew. Everyone is really friendly, and the accommodations are decent.
