The three-day Marrakech to Fes Desert Tour will give you the chance to discover the splendour of southern Morocco, including the magnificent High Atlas Mountains, where you can take in their breathtaking views and traditional Berber communities. Your three-day desert excursion from Marrakech to Fes will also take you to the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which UNESCO designated as a World Heritage Site in 1986. A number of movies, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara with Penélope Cruz, were filmed here. After visiting the Taourirt Kasbah and the Oscar Atlas Film Studio in Ouarzazate, the largest film studio in Morocco, our 3-day private tour from Marrakech to Fes continues through the Skoura Palm Grove, Rose Valley, which is known for its annual rose festival and cosmetic products, the green Dades Valley, and the fascinating Todra Gorge, a well-known rock climbing location. Day 1: Marrakech - Atlas Mountains - Kasabh Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Kelaa M'gouna - Dades Valley

You will be picked up by your driver from Sahara Camel Trips at 8:30 am from your hotel or riad after breakfast to begin your three-day tour from Marrakech to Fes over the Tizi n’Tichka pass ( 2260 m). Continue to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou (fortified village), the famous Kasbah that was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. Countless movies, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara with Penélope Cruz, have been shot in this breathtaking location. Time to spare before our Marrakech desert tours and lunch at a restaurant The third day takes us to Ouazazate, where we will see Taourirt Kasbah, another historic landmark, and Oscar Atlas Film Studio, the largest film studio in Morocco. After that, we will travel through the magnificent Skoura palm grove, the Rose Valley, which is famous for its annual rose festival and cosmetic products in May, and the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs. We will arrive in Dades Valley in the afternoon, where we will have dinner and spend the night at a hotel with a view of the valley.

Day 2: Dades - Todra Gorges - Jorf - Rissani - Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Dunes)

After breakfast at the hotel, the Marrakech to Fes 3-day desert tour departs for Todra Gorge. Berber villages are strewn throughout the route as we pass through Tinghir. Before arriving at Todra Gorges, one of Morocco’s most well-liked rock climbing locations, we’ll stop to admire the stunning Todra valley full of palm trees. We will take a brief stroll through the area’s 300-meter-high, grey-and-pink high canyons before moving on to Touroug and Tinjdad for lunch. From there, we will travel to Erfoud, where we will experience the Tafilalet Saharan oasis, before continuing on to Merzouga and the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes. To get to your nomadic berber tents, you must ride a camel for approximately an hour and a half from here. During the walk, you will stop in the centre of the dunes to watch the sunset, try sandboarding if you’re interested in that activity, snap pictures, and take in the landscape. You’ll travel to the Berber camp of Merzouga after the sun has set, where you’ll be greeted with a glass of mint tea, dinner, a campfire, a music party, and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Merzouga - Ziz valley - Middle Atlas - Midelt - Azrou - Ifrane - Fes

The third day, after seeing the sun rise over the dune close to the camp, you’ll enjoy a nice breakfast, take a shower, and then board the camels once more to return to the starting point. Alternatively, we may transport you by 4WD. From there, we’ll continue on to Fes via the second-longest river in Morocco, the Ziz Valley, and a crossing of the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views and have time to enjoy lunch at a restaurant. Then, as we move from Marrakech to Fes over the course of three days in the desert, we’ll stop at Ifrane, Morocco’s Little Switzerland, before arriving in the late afternoon and dropping you off at your hotel. Along the way, we’ll also stop at Azrou’s Cedar Forest to see wild monkeys and take a brief walk through the forest to take pictures.
