What to expect
1Merzouga – Erg Chebbi dunes – Merzouga
No driving experience in sand? No problem. When you arrive, our team explains everything step by step and an experienced instructor prepares you for driving in the desert. Then you set off towards the dunes with your guide. Depending on how much time you have, we show you the best of Erg Chebbi and its surroundings, from the classic viewpoints to quiet, little-visited corners. Longer trips can include tea with a nomad family or a stop at an oasis. We practise responsible tourism that respects the desert environment and the people who live there.

Good to know
- Who can drive: each buggy seats two people; drivers need to be confident behind the wheel. Children can ride as passengers.
- Best time: early morning or late afternoon, when the light is beautiful and the sand cooler. Sunset rides are the most popular.
- Combine it: add a camel trek and a night in a desert camp or a quad bike ride.
What to wear
- Sunglasses or goggles and a scarf to cover your face from sand.
- Closed shoes and long trousers.
- A light jacket in winter.

We had a fantastic time with Morocco's Travel. It was a thrilling way to explore the dunes and see how vast the desert is. A safety helmet and a water bottle were provided. They were very accommodating, taking us on a dune buggy ride at the last minute. Our guide was fantastic; he took some great photos of us and even let us mount our GoPro to the back of his quad to get videos from a different perspective. The cost was reasonable. I strongly recommend including this in your Erg Chebbi experience!
